The International Graduate School of English (IGSE) is looking for a qualified instructor to teach content and language skills courses in its MA TESOL program from 2021 Fall semester. [Assistant Professor, IGSE, MA TESOL program]

1. Starting Date: August 1, 2021

2. Requirements

● Master’s degree in TESOL or a closely related field
● CELTA certificate
● Extensive, recent experience teaching English to adults
● Exceptional teamwork/collaboration skills
● Experience with curriculum development

3. Preferred:

● Prior experience training pre-service and/or in-service teachers of English
● Experience teaching blended/distance/online courses

4. Responsibility

● teaching hours: 12 hours/week during each of two semesters
● teach a content course (3 hours/week) and language skills courses (9 hours/week)
● take part in administrative work (including admission tests, ceremonies, etc.)

 
5. Working Conditions/Benefits

● 1 year contract (renewable annually)
● Salary (2,500,000 KRW ~3,000,000 KRW/month)
● Overtime payment: 40,000 KRW/hour
● Housing stipend: 500,000 KRW/month
● Option of additional teaching in IGSE Education Center (extra payment)
● Pension and medical insurance
● Severance payment (approximately one month’s salary of the yearly contract accumulated as severance pay)
● Approximately 10 weeks of paid vacation annually
● A faculty office with a computer
